PHOENIX - Peter Piper Pizza, a Phoenix-based pizzeria and restaurant chain, will soon be up for sale, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Sponsor Acon, who owns the chain, hired an investment bank to run the process of selling the pizza chain.
When they bought the chain, Peter Piper Pizza's annual revenue was expected to exceed $200 million but due to the economic downturn the restaurant saw declines in 2008 and 2009.
The company says that revenue has continued to grow since Acon's original investment.
The chain was founded in 1973 in Glendale and currently has 32-company owned restaurants and 113 franchise locations.
