We all have those days when we wake up with the best intentions of hitting the gym, but they end with our gym bag abandoned in the trunk of the car and a glass of wine in hand.
When that happens, don't beat yourself up, there are still a few ways you can keep the weight off until you get back on track with your workout regimen.
Registered dietitian and working mom Jessica Lehmann says first try to get a good night's sleep; seven to nine hours is ideal.
Sleeping curbs your appetite and Lehmann says, "it's the foundation of wellness."
Next on Lehmann's list is a license to fidget.
She says you can shake your foot, pace, take the stairs instead of the elevator, whatever you need to do, but it's all about getting your body moving.
According to FitnessBlender.com , fidgeting can burn an additional 300 calories a day, and over the course of a year that can equate to more than 30 pounds!
Last on Lehmann's list -- vegetables.
"Vegetables are a powerhouse of fiber, phytochemicals and water. Things that will keep you feeling full and activate your energy and metabolism," she said. Remember to add at least two servings every time you eat.
