KOKOMO, IN - A free-spirited Indiana pup took it upon himself to take a solo ride in his owner's truck Monday.
Onlookers were shocked to see a car rolling down the street -- with apparently nobody behind the wheel -- before it finally crashed into another vehicle.
However, as it turned out, the "driver" was a long-haired dachshund named Fritz.
Fritz’s owners, David and Diane Turner, parked their truck next to an old railroad station. They said they put the truck in gear, but didn’t put the parking brake on.
While the Turners were inside making Buddy Bags for less fortunate children, Fritz apparently had plans of his own.
It is believed that Fritz bumped the gear shift of the truck and took a bit of a cruise down North Buckeye Street. The truck passed three cars before it switched lanes and tapped a truck.
Luckily, damage was minimal, which was a relief to the Turners who said they love their dog and are just happy he’s OK.
