TOPEKA, KANSAS - "Pink Lemonade for Peace" reads the banner of a lemonade stand run by 5-year-old Jayden Sink in hopes of raising money to go toward a message of love and peace.
Jayden's stand was set up in front of The Equality House, a rainbow home built across the street from Westboro Baptist Church. Her venture was in response to the church's messages of hate, reported the Huffington Post .
The little girl's efforts persisted despite Westboro's repeated efforts to stop the event, and she ultimately raised $1,400 for peace: $400 from the lemonade stand and $1,000 from an online campaign she set up through Crowd Rise.
All of the money raised was donated to Planting Peace, the nonprofit founded to spread peace that owns The Equality House.
