3 Careers Worth Going Back to School For

When you're going back to school at age 30 and older, there's a lot to consider. The most important thing is what the return on your investment will be. Brian Corsetti found three careers that have high job satisfaction and he’s breaking down their requirements.

1.  Dental Hygienist

The number of new jobs will increase 33% in the next 5 years and you can get  an instate license with just an associate’s degree. Some schools combine your 2 year and 4 year so you can finish earlier. It can run you 10 grand per year, but the return on your investment is sweet with an average salary of $71,000.

2.  Nurse

Over 500,000 jobs are going to be added to the work force by 2022. That’s a lot of jobs! One positive thing about entering the profession of nursing is that there is a high level of job satisfaction and it’s been reported to be as high as 91%. Guys, take note. This is no longer a gig that's only for women. On average 25% of nursing graduates are men. The average salary of a nurse is $71,000.

3.  Substance Abuse Counselor

This job includes advising people dealing with alcoholism, drug addiction, eating disorders, or other behavior. Experts say 28,000 jobs will be added to the work force by 2022, with an average yearly salary of $38,520. You can start this career with just a high school diploma.
