A man has been arrested for attempting to light a dog on fire, according to Tucson Police Department.

TPD Officer Dan Lucas said officers were called to a domestic dispute on Monday around 11:45 a.m. at a mobile home park at 4545 S. Mission.

When officers arrived, they learned the suspect was not allowed on the property.  He became upset and attempted to light the dog on fire, said Lucas.

The dog had little to no injury and did not need medical attention, said Lucas. The dog's hair was damaged but it did not reach his skin.

The suspect had burns on his hand for attempting to hurt the dog, said Lucas.

Officers arrested Angel Howard for Animal Cruely, Domestic Violence- Disorderly Conduct and Domestic Violence- Trespassing. Howard was booked into Pima County Jail.
