Restoration Hardware catalog: Company criticized over 18-pound catalog

If you think you get a lot of catalogs, wait until you see the one coming out this summer.
Actually, it's a series of catalogs from Restoration Hardware .
Some people, like Sara Connelly, are upset by how much paper is used for something she doesn't want.
The 13-volume set has more than 3,000 pages and is delivered all at once.
And get this.
When Sara put it on a scale, it weighed 18 pounds.
Restoration Hardware's annual mailing is its largest and is catching some criticism on social media.
The company says it's designed to be a coffee table book.
They say it's made from sustainable forests and is more efficient than mailing 12 separate catalogs every year.
Sara isn't buying it.
"Why waste that much paper? Why spend the money to ship it? We haven't bought from there in years," she said.
Do you have unwanted catalogs?
You can call and ask to be removed.
But an easier way is to go to the website .
The free industry-supported site lets you opt out of whatever catalogs you no longer want.
If you try it out, let me know if it works.
Also, Restoration Hardware stores are accepting catalogs for recycling if you don't want them and don't mind carrying them to the store.
