PHOENIX - Valley families challenging their sky high water bills, can now find out how much the bills would change under three scenarios requested by the Arizona Corporation Commission.
In July the Commission asked Epcor to look at three different options to get sewer rates in parts of Anthem, Sun City, and Buckeye under control.
Right now each district is charged a completely different rate.
Sun City and Sun City West are the lowest with a flat fee of $18 and $31 respectively.
Mohave in Northern Arizona pays a flat rate of $57.
According to Epcor, Anthem customers average $64 per month and Agua Fria customers pay nearly $106 on average.
Epcor says the difference in price is due to the amount of users in each district and varying infrastructure needs.
The three options include:
-Further de-consolidate Agua Fria wastewater district. According to Epcor's filing today, this option would result in average sewer bill ranging from $121 for Verrado, $78 for Russell Ranch, and $114 just everyone else in that district.
-Reconsolidate Agua Fria and Anthem wastewater districts. Epcor says that would result in a flat $39.84 bill plus $4.99 per thousand gallons (up to 7000).
-Consolidate all of Epcor's wastewater districts though out the state. The filing says this option will result in a flat rate $34 bill for each customer all of Epcor's wastewater districts.
Now it's up to the Arizona Corporation Commission to decide what to do next.
