Anica and her husband have two Dodge Ram 1500 trucks.
That may not be typical for a couple in their 70's, but Anica says it makes her feel safe.
Earlier this year, she received safety recall notices for both trucks. The recalls notice says it "could allow the rear axle pinion nut to loosen and/or the rear drive shaft to separate from the rear axle."
Both of the couple's trucks had safety recalls.
Anica says she received the first one in January of this year.
She says she's tried repeatedly to get into various dealerships and get the problem repaired.
But she says the dealers didn't have the parts necessary to repair the trucks.
Chrysler did tell owners the part wouldn't be ready until the first quarter of 2013.
Anica says that didn't happen, and she and her husband worry every time they drive the trucks that something may go wrong.
They say they were told by a dealer to keep the speeds below 35 miles per hour.
But they say that isn't practical. And they let me know about it.
Chrysler tells us they needed time to design the repair part:
"Customer safety is paramount at Chrysler group. Accordingly, sufficient time was needed for engineers to design and validate the appropriate replacement parts. Not all vehicles affected by these recalls will experience problems. Nevertheless, all vehicles that may be susceptible will benefit from the free repair. Chrysler group sincerely regrets any inconvenience this delay has caused its customers."
Chrysler told us one of the trucks could be repaired, but the other still doesn't have the part ready.
Anica wanted to bring in both trucks at the same time.
But she's now decided to get one truck repaired, possibly next week.
She's still waiting on the other. Chrysler says that part should be out to dealers soon.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) didn't comment specifically about this recall. But they did say that repairs could be delayed if consumers and NHTSA are property notified.
