The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is investigating reports of a dead bat found inside of a prepackaged salad mix.

Fresh Express issued a limited recall of its Organic Marketside Spring Mix on Saturday after two people in Florida reported eating some of the salad before the bat remains were found.

According to a press release the bat was sent to the CDC for rabies testing, but due to the level of decay investigators were not able to determine whether or not it was infected.

The CDC says it believes the risk of transmission is very low but has recommended post-exposure treatment for those who ate the salad.

Recalled salads were sold only in Walmart stores located in the Southeastern United States in a clear container with production code G089B19 and best-if-used-by date of APR 14, 2017 located on the front.

It should be thrown away immediately.

Full refunds are available. Customers can go to the store where purchased or the Fresh Express Consumer Response Center toll-free at (800) 242-5472 during the hours of 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern Time.
