UPDATE: Surprise purse snatching thieves connected to other crimes

The Department of Public Service says the three people who were arrested after running a red light and causing a crash near Grand and 134th avenues were also involved in several thefts.

All three people inside the vehicle ran from the scene of the collision and were arrested with help from Surprise and Peoria police.

Surprise police say the suspects inside of the vehicle stole a woman's pursefrom her grocery cart a short time before at a nearby Walmart.

The victim of the purse snatch says she was putting groceries in her car when the suspect drove up and stole her purse. She said she tried to hold onto the bag, but the suspects were too strong and took it. Police now say the car the suspects were was also stolen along with golf clubs that were found inside.

The suspects are; Eduin Orozco and Isaac Armando Erives, both age 24, and 18-year-old Marcos Miguel Osorio.

The driver and passenger of the vehicle hit were treated on scene for minor injuries.
