A Tempe man is facing multiple counts of aggravated assault after allegedly stabbing another man with a screwdriver.

Court records show that on Sept. 30, Muteeb Helal Al-Helal stabbed the man in the head near McClintock and University drives before also going after the victim's friends.

Police report that the 28-year-old allegedly used a "Phillips screwdriver" to stab the victim behind his right ear as the man's friends recorded the incident from inside their car. Al-Helal then reportedly tried to attack the friends, using the screwdriver to scratch their car, as well as stabbing holes in a nearby apartment complex.

Witnesses said Al-Helal was wearing a unique pair of blue shorts with a white triangle design. He was soon located wearing the same shorts, according to court records.

Police said he was "extremely intoxicated and combative" towards security, police officers, and the fire department.

Al-Halal has been charged with multiple counts of aggravated assault.
