Police arrested two women for stealing tailgates off trucks in different locations around Phoenix.

Phoenix Police report that near the end of March they received information regarding a rash of tailgate thefts around the city.

The anonymous tip implicated 43-year-old Lisa Ann Navarro and another woman, later identified as 42-year-old Clarisa Yvonne Aguilar.

On May 18, police located Navarro and Aguilar and followed them as they toured several parking lots in central and south Phoenix. Police say that after switching license plates, the police helicopter observed the women as they removed a tailgate from a truck, near 37th and Southern avenues, and placed it into their car.

A ground unit soon stopped and detained the two women.

Navarro, who is on probation for theft, and Aguilar have been linked to and are now charged with seven tailgate robberies in Phoenix.
