A Tempe man was cut several times in the head after being attacked by an acquaintance with vice grips.

Tempe police report that on May 16 they responded to the College Park Apartments near College Avenue and Baseline Road where they found a man on the ground bleeding from his head.

Police say the victim had several one-inch long cuts to the back of his head after being attacked by 33-year-old Tyler Andre Navarro over an argument involving a bicycle.

Police say the victim fled to another apartment after the assault to get help.

Police searched the apartment where the attack took place and allegedly found silver colored vice grips with the victim’s blood and hair on it. They also reportedly saw blood throughout the apartment.

Navarro returned to the apartment later that night and police arrested him after being contacted by residents.

Navarro has been charged with aggravated assault.
