A man is caught after stealing 36 car batteries from businesses near 32nd Street and Broadway Road.

Phoenix police report that in February they put together a task force to investigate a series of car batteries that were stolen from various businesses along Broadway Road between 48th and 32nd streets.

The numbers on each point in the map below depict the number incidents/car batteries stolen at each location, according to court records.

The owner of one business that had been burglarized 12 times in six months was able to capture video of the suspect's vehicle, a white Ford truck. They also were able to get a description of the suspect.

The suspect, later identified as 61-year-old Bobby Isham returned to the business in the same truck. This time the business owner was able to get a license plate number. That number was registered to Isham.

The police unit conducted surveillance on Isham and witnessed him stealing batteries from several other businesses.

He was arrested on March 24 after he was seen taking three car batteries from a box truck at 23rd Street and Broadway Road.

Isham has been charged with burglary.
