A Phoenix man living in an apartment in North Phoenix with small children was arrested after police found hundreds of videos of child pornography.

Court records show that police were notified in August that files containing videos of child pornography were found associated with an e-mail address in Phoenix. Police say they reviewed the records and concluded that they did indeed contain videos of adults in sexual contact with children as young as five years old.

The e-mail address was associated with an apartment near 19th and Peoria avenues.

Police report that they contacted the leasing company who told them that two women and several children lived in the apartment. They said there was also a man, later identified as 33-year-old Ricardo Santiago, who lives there and pays rent but is not on the lease.

Police raided the apartment on October 4, where they found more than 177 video files of child pornography.

When they interviewed Santiago, he allegedly told police that he used the messaging application 'KiK" to send and receive the videos. He also told authorities that he used his cell phone to trade videos with others.

Police say, "there were numerous children living in the apartment ranging in age from (two to seven) years old."

Santiago told police there was no inappropriate behavior with any of the children residing in the apartment.

He has been charged with multiple counts of sexual exploitation a minor.
