Police say that a Phoenix man used a belt with metal studs and skulls to hit three children.

Court records show that on April 25 three children ages 10, 7 and 3 were beaten in the face, back, arms and legs with a belt with metal studs on it for jumping on the bed.

Police report that 33-year-old Ronnie A. Freudenvoll told them, "He was an angry, angry man when he came home."

He reportedly woke up the children at 3 a.m. and began hitting them with the belt for misbehaving and jumping on the bed earlier that day.

The assault was witnessed by two other children ages 12 and 4.

The 3-year-old girl and seven-year old-boy were struck in the face with the belt. They both had visible marks on their foreheads. The 10-year-old boy was struck in the back, arms and legs causing bruising and cuts.

Freudenvoll admitted to hitting some of the children but denied using the metal studded belt. He reportedly told police, "that he went too far with his whooping."

Freudenvoll has been charged with three counts of child abuse.
