A woman sitting in a Mesa jail set her clothes on fire in an attempt to get out.

Mesa police report that on Wednesday a deputy at the jail near Main Street and Country Club Drive saw smoke coming from a jail cell.

They questioned 32-year-old Katrina Sharee Yarbrough who was in jail on drug charges. She reportedly told police that she burned her clothes to try and set off the smoke detectors so “they would let her out of jail."

Police say Yarbrough's shirt was found torn and burnt in the toilet.

They also reportedly found a lighter in Yarbrough's pocket.

Arson charges have been added to the drug charges she is already facing.
