A woman arrested for stealing items from locker rooms at Chandler fitness centers could be involved in similar thefts in Glendale.

Chandler police report that they began investigating four burglaries that occurred in a women’s locker room at Chandler fitness centers in late October.

Police say 30-year-old Jerica Arleena Spencer and an accomplice entered a fitness center near Dobson and Warner roads. Gym employees reportedly told police that the women spent at least an hour in the locker room and left without working out, saying, "they forgot their shoes."

Police say during that time, they cut padlocks off lockers and stole wallets and purses. They then used a stolen pass to enter another fitness center in Chandler and committed more thefts.

Police have confirmed 23 charges made from the stolen credit cards totaling about $6,600 and attempted charges totaling another $5,000.

Spencer was arrested on November 28.

Glendale police are also investigating Spencer for an additional nine cases at fitness centers in Glendale.

Spencer, who was already on felony release, is being held without bond on identity theft charges.
