A Valley mother is facing child abuse charges after her two young children were found wandering around Luke Air Force Base.

Glendale police report that around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, security personnel from the base found the 2-year-old and 4-year-old walking around the facility unattended.

It is believed the children opened a window at their home, and forced out the screen before climbing outside.

Base security took the children home, where they reportedly found an infant, about 6-months old, alone in a crib.

Police say the mother, 23-year-old Nikia Chetenne Judd, returned home about 30 minutes later.

At first, Judd told investigators that she left the children with a babysitter, but she later admitted that she left the children alone for nearly two hours.

The Arizona Department of Child Safety was notified and Judd was taken to Glendale City Jail where she was arrested on three counts of child abuse.
