A Buckeye man attacked his neighbor, striking him with a candlestick measuring two feet long.

Buckeye police report that on July 8, they were called to a home near Watson and Yuma roads, where they found two men fighting in the street.

Police say 45-year-old Gilbert Arnaldo Eurasquin was armed with a two-foot metal candlestick with three prongs.

Eurasquin was allegedly striking another man, who was defending himself with a baseball bat.

Police later learned that Eurasquin went to the victim’s home and broke his window before swinging the candlestick at him.

Police say the victim had a large bruise on his arm as he put it up to defend himself before grabbing the bat.

Eurasquin reportedly told police that he broke the window to get attention since he was feeling bad.

He has been charged with aggravated assault and criminal damage.
