A Peoria teen apologized to Sun City residents for stealing their jewelry to support a drug habit.

Court records show that 19-year-old Lindsey Jean Knox and her boyfriend are accused of several jewelry thefts in Sun City from May through August of this year.

The Maricopa Sheriffs' Office reports that over $3,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from two residences in Sun City.

Witnesses were able to get a license plate number to a white Volvo with the couple inside, that may have been responsible for the crimes.

MCSO was able to track the car to Knox. Knox was interviewed by MCSO where she allegedly admitted that she would drive her boyfriend around as he would burglarize homes of jewelry, then she would pick him up. They would sell or pawn the jewelry to buy heroin.

MCSO says that before being arrested, Knox went into her home and wrote a letter of apology to the victims and retrieved some of the stolen jewelry and coins.

She has been charged with burglary, her boyfriend has yet to be arrested.
