10 Questions for celebrity hypnotist Catherine Hickland

It isn't always the big events that make us turn our head when we hear about politicians, celebrities and athletes.

Sometimes, we just want to know that when you boil it down, they're all ordinary people like us.

What's in their fridge? What are they reading? What do they do in their off time? ABC15.com is asking the same 10 questions of a newsmaker. But don't jump to any conclusions; these aren't the typical interview questions.

They are not meant to be probing or controversial. Instead, they're fun questions that let you get to know the person in ways you probably don't already.

This week, we're learning more about celebrity hypnotist Catherine Hickland.

An accomplished actress, Hickland has starred in soap operas on all three networks, most notably as the beloved Lindsay Rappaport on ABC's "One Life to Live." An accomplished singer, Catherine also starred on Broadway as the tragic heroine Fantine in the Legendary Broadway hit, Les Miserables.

Hickland's passion for hypnosis began when she was still in her teens. A Clinical Hypnotherapist, she is a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists, and lovingly assists people of all ages to overcome fears, phobias, heartbreak, and negative programming which holds them back from their highest potential. Her best selling book, "The 30 Day Heartbreak Cure" was written with the principles of hypnosis.

Hickland's comedy hypnosis show is now playing at the Arizona State Fair. She'll be performing three shows daily from October 14 through November 6th.

I am an Apple junkie to be sure, I have MAC everything. We even have an apple computer that Todd bought from Steve Jobs right out of his garage and it was one of the very first. Though I have had a successful career as an actress, starred on Broadway, am a published author, own a successful cosmetics company and am a successful hypnotist, without a doubt, my greatest success is my happiness and the success I have learned to achieve in my personal life. It's never too late to get it right.

8. Tell us something about you most people don't know?

My life is an open book. If it had not been documented over the years in the press, I probably would have forgotten half of it. I guess most people do not know that I am a hypnotist. People who come to my shows are always surprised.

9. If you could have dinner with any three people, living or dead, who would they be?

Bette Davis, Pat Collins (The hip hypnotist) and Mother Teresa. How's that for a variety?

I can not imagine doing anything else to be honest. Part of my joy is that I am doing exactly what I want to be doing. I want them to understand how to get the mind/body/spirit working together so they can live their best lives.
