Orangetheory Fitness focuses on nutrition, wellness, fitness

PARADISE VALLEY, AZ - Orangetheory Fitness is a paid sponsor of Sonoran Living Live

Members at Orangetheory Fitness receive more than a great workout when they become a member and join one of the newest fitness revolutions in Arizona. In addition to receiving feedback on caloric expenditure and heart-rate zone training, they also receive continuous nutrition and wellness counseling.

At Orangetheory Fitness' Paradise Valley location at Tatum and Shea, Studio Manager and Fitness Coach Daren Parks, MS, passionately believes that improving your fitness level is not just about getting yourself into the habit of working out.

"In order to achieve all-over, full body health, you have to watch what you put into your body, too," said Parks. "You will never out-train a poor diet.  At Orangetheory, we have a several highly qualified nutrition and fitness experts on site to speak to members any time they want to discuss their eating habits and patterns. We constantly provide tips and information to members so that they are reminded to stay healthy and in an effort to hold them accountable."

Parks reminds his members at the end of each class that working out and burning 800 calories, and then leaving and eating 800 calories is not the way to reach their fitness goals.

"The Orangetheory Fitness workout is so efficient with respect to ensuring participants work at an intensity level sufficient to produce immediate results that poor food choices will immediately sabotage all of your hard work."

By design, the Orangetheory workout uses heart-rate based monitored cardiovascular and strength interval training to include several bursts of moderate to high intensity exercise to maximize the Orange Effect - which adds extra caloric burn for up to 36 hours after the workout. Participants burn an average of 600 to 900 calories per 60-minute class.
