Dive in to SEA LIFE Arizona this summer and experience the newest exhibit, Jellyfish Discovery! The new exhibit showcases six tanks allowing guests to get up-close views of these mysterious creatures. There are also several hands-on educational elements where guests can test their knowledge about jellyfish and see how they move and feel.
Jellyfish are infamous for being dangerous creatures of the sea, however only about 70 of the 2,000 known species are dangerous to humans. These creatures are made of 95% water and are actually not fish at all! They have no brains, hearts, bones or gills and are more closely related to sea anemones and urchins. Their tentacles are lined with stinging coils that are released when a predator gets too close, which is how humans get stung by jellyfish.
Jellyfish Discovery will be on exhibit at SEA LIFE Arizona throughout 2013. To learn more about the aquarium and its creatures please visit http://www.sealifeus.com/.
