Are you struggling with stress?  Feeling overwhelmed with trying to balance the needs of your employer, family, friends, and self?  Finding that you are not making time for yourself?  Wanting to feel more connected to your child or partner?  Having difficulty asking for what you need, saying no, and/or setting healthy boundaries?  Struggling with a recent loss or change?

These are all common occurrences that exemplify the diversity of appropriate reasons for seeking mental health counseling.

Some mistakenly assume that mental health treatment is only for people with serious mental illness, or more unfortunately that there is something "wrong" with you if you decide to participate in mental health treatment.

Quite to the contrary, mental health counseling can be beneficial for anyone.  Pain is a part of life - to acknowledge this, and to ask for support in coping is a skillful and healthy behavior.  We all experience pain in different ways.

We all have strengths, as well as areas where we can make improvement.  Therapy validates this experience and has many potential benefits, including increased confidence, job performance, communication skills, motivation, experience of positive emotion, relationship satisfaction, proficiency in regulating your emotions, balance, self-care, awareness of barriers and how they can be overcome, skillfulness in coping, and capacity to see your thoughts, emotions, and urges for what they are rather than letting them run your life.

Successful people do not have fewer problems in life; they simply choose to get back up again when they are knocked down.  Mental health treatment can help you when you have been knocked down and further expand your effectiveness when you get back up again.

Mindful Mountain Counseling, P.L.L.C., aspires to provide you with high quality mental health treatment.  Its core values center around taking a non-judgmental approach to helping you with your concerns, empowering you to recognize and utilize your strengths, promoting collaboration between client and therapist so that you may be an active participant in designing and facilitating your treatment, and providing a supportive, empathetic environment suited for achieving your goals.
