 Don't' Deal With It--Zip It!

When it comes time to clean out your bathroom drains.

Think about everything that goes down your bathroom drains including soap, shampoo, body oils, grime, dirt and hair. To avoid slow-running drains, plumbing problems, clogs or strange smells it's important to clean your drains regularly.

Many people don't realize that you can clean out your drains yourself using an inexpensive tool available at your local home improvement or hardware store.

Called a "Zip-It" and referred to as "the easiest way to clean your drains," this handy apparatus is often called a lifesaver and costs less than $5.

The Zip-It is easy for virtually anyone to use to clear a slow-running drain. It provides an excellent alternative to harsh drain-cleaning chemicals and is disposable after each use. They are helpful for your sinks, showers and tubs.

Because people typically wash their hair in the shower, the results from what is removed from shower drains are often surprising.  The Zip-It is a 16" plastic strip with teeth on it. It's simple and easy to use.

Because the gunk that most people remove is a tangled and slimy mess, gloves are encouraged.

Here's how:

1. Insert it into the sink drain, wiggling it past the drain stopper.

2. Once you get it all the way in, pull it out.

3. Clean any hair and build-up off.

4. Repeat until it comes out clean.

Enjoy your fast draining sink again quickly. If the Zip-It doesn't resolve your slow-running drains (or you have a weak stomach), call us, a professional plumber to clean out your drains for you. Benjamin Franklin, The Punctual Plumber 602-382-0013
