Since 1901, the Grand Canyon Railway has been taking people on a fabled journey into the heart of one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The railway has a number of exciting travel opportunities through the end of the year.
As a full-service travel agency, AAA Travel would like to highlight the following:
Steam Engine
The Grand Canyon Railway celebrates the history of vintage rail travel with a steam-powered excursion to the Grand Canyon. This 90-year-old Locomotive 4960 is fueled by recycled vegetable oil. Roundtrip tickets are $41* for children (ages 2-15) and $68* for adults. The last opportunities to ride this unique steam train this year are Aug. 3, Sept. 7 and Sept. 21.

Original Coach Car
Another option to experience vintage rail is aboard a 1923 Harriman-tyle coach car. These fully refurbished classic cars, built by the Pullman Company, feature seats that flip so guests can face each other. Roundtrip tickets are $29* for children (ages 2-15) and $59* for adults. This train has availability through Oct. 31.

Secret Pumpkin Patch
Every weekend in October, the Grand Canyon Railway departs Williams to a secret pumpkin patch where children can select their own Halloween pumpkins. Back at the station, they can decorate pumpkins, visit a haunted train car and find their way through a hay bale maze. Roundtrip tickets are $15* for children (ages 2-15) and $20* for adults.
Polar Express
Each winter, the Polar Express makes its magical round-trip journey to the North Pole where kids get to meet Santa, enjoy caroling, hot chocolate, cookies and receive a special gift. This popular event runs from Nov.  8 through Jan. 4. Train times are 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. weekdays?, with weekend matinee trains at 3:30 p.m. Roundtrip tickets are $23* for children (ages 2-15) and $37* for adults. Packages for a family of four (2 adults, 2 children) start at $350*. The package includes one night of hotel accommodations, dinner, train tickets and breakfast.
