Arizona Parenting magazine has some family fun events for the weekend.

October 5

Festival of the Arts
Phoenix / Herberger Theater Center
The fourth annual Herberger Theater Festival of the Arts will celebrate the arts in downtown Phoenix with a day featuring performances, dance, food, art, live music, children's activities, film shorts, pet adoptions, wine tasting, Lunch Time Theater excerpts and more!  Children are invited to participate in the Superhero Costume Contest on the Outdoor Stage at 3 p.m. $5 per person. Kids 12 and under, free.  12-5 p.m.

October 6-20

Diving with Dinos
Tempe / SEA LIFE Arizona
Dive into fall break and learn about the incredible dinosaurs that lived in our oceans with activities for the whole family. All ages. Oct 6-20. Free with regular admission.

Target 3 For Free
Mesa / Arizona Museum for Youth/ Arizona Museum of Natural History/ Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum
Target offers free admission to all three museums,  each venue is located within three blocks of each other in downtown Mesa. Special activities at Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum include an area for kids to create their own artwork and free entertainment in MCA's outdoor courtyard. All ages. 12-5 p.m. Free.
