PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks are inviting fans to bring their dogs to the ballpark today for "Bark in the Park," sponsored by Pet Club.
The game against the San Francisco Giants starts at 1:10 p.m. and Mavrik, a dog available for adoption from the Arizona Humane Society, will be on hand to take part in the "First Fetch" on the field before the game.
Fans and their canine companions can take part in a Puppy Rally with prizes for "Top Dogs" and a Puppy Parade around the warning track at the ballpark.
For every ticket purchased online , $5 will be donated to the Arizona Humane Society.
Mavrik, a 2-year-old Parson Jack Russell/Lab mix, will be available for adoption through AHS at the game for $35 which includes all fees for neutering, vaccinations, ID tag, collar and free follow up exam.
The Puppy Rally will begin at 11 a.m., the Puppy Parade starts at 12:30 p.m. and the First Fetch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Dogs must be at least 6 months old, owners must show a copy of current vaccinations from a licensed veterinarian, and a dog license is required.
Check-in will take place outside Gate J, underneath the shaded confines of the 7th Street bridge.
Water will be provided for the dogs, but owners should provide their own dog food.
