Pet of the week: Pixie needs a family to love her

This sweet 1-year-old Chihuahua was rescued by the Arizona Humane Society after a traumatic event while living on the streets.

Unfortunately vets weren't able to repair her eyes and an emergency amputation surgery was performed.

Although Pixie no longer has eyes, her hearing is sharp and she responds with a tail wag when she hears a soft, kind voice.

She needs a very special home where household furniture as well as her food and water dish will remain stationary so she can memorize the layout of her new pad.

Another small gentle dog may serve her well as a personal "guide dog" but it would be best if she found a home with older children.

This poor pooch loves to be held, cuddled and showered with attention.

Pixie is available NOW at the Sunnyslope Adoption Center located at 9226 N 13th Avenue in Phoenix. Her adoption fee is $110 and this fee includes her eye and spay surgery as well as her vaccines.
