ACLU sues library for restricting online porn?

The American Civil Liberties Union is suing a Washington state library district because the libraries don't allow its users to search for and look at porn online, according to a Friday report.        

The ACLU argues federally funded libraries should disable their filters upon the request of an adult in an article on msnbc.com .       

They say the filtering policy is over-broad and restricted an adult student from using the internet for a class assignment.

A professional photographer was also reportedly restricted from accessing art galleries online.

However, a representative for the library district says pornography in public places would hurt their ability to accomplish their mission of promoting lifelong reading and learning. Read more.
