On Sunday night, actress and singer Selena Gomez delivered a powerful message during the American Music Awards.
"I think it's safe to say that all of you know my life whether I like it or not. I had to stop because I had everything and was absolutely broken inside," the singer said during her acceptance speech for winning Favorite Female Artist for Pop/Rock.
"I don't want to see your bodies on Instagram. I want to see what's in here [in your heart]," she said. "If you are broken, you do not have to stay broken."
She then went on to thank fans for their loyalty.
Sunday marked the first public appearance for Gomez who took a break from her career to focus on her personal health, according to People.
