PHOENIX - Two of this year's best actress nominees hold the records for youngest and oldest actress to be nominated in Academy Award history, Hollywoodreporter.com reported Thursday.
Quvenzhane Wallis, who starred in "Beasts of the Southern Wild", is just 9 years old, making her the youngest best actress Oscar nominee in history.
The only nominees younger than Wallis were best actor nominees Jackie Cooper (who was just a few days younger than Wallis) when he was nominated for his role in "Skippy" (1931) and Justin Henry who was 8 years old when he was nominated for "Kramer vs. Kramer" (1979).
To make it even more interesting, the oldest Best Actress nominee in history was also named this year.
Emmanuelle Riva, the 85-year-old star of "Amour", is up against Wallis for the Academy Award.
