It's that time of year again, the time to celebrate music at it's finest!
The industry's biggest stars headed to Los Angeles Sunday, November 18 for the 40th Annual American Music Awards.
Rihanna and Nicki Minaj were the leading nominees with four nods each, while Drake, Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, One Direction and Usher earned three bids apiece. Carrie Underwood, Chris Brown, fun., Gotye, J. Cole, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Luke Bryan, and Pitbull were each double nominees.
Drake, Bieber, Maroon 5, Katy Perry and Rihanna were also in the running for artist of the year.
Fans were treated to special performances by Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, No Doubt and more as the year's top artists were honored, while celebrating 40 years of AMA history and memorable moments.
The best part? Input from the artists' biggest fans helped determine who walked away a winner!
For the sixth year, fans determined the winners by voting online at www.AMA.ABC.com .
