Here at Walnut Canyon you'll find more than just beautiful canyon walls and mountain life.

Over 700 years ago, this canyon was teaming with life, human life! People crew gardens on the steep cliff walls and gathered water from the creek hundreds of feet below.

Archeologists have long studied the structures and artifacts that remain. As you hike the trails, you can visit ancient cliff dwellings and pueblos.

You can literally walk in the footsteps of the people who used to live here.

The island trail has 25 rooms built by the Sinagua people and even more are visible across the canyon.

If you don't want to climb all those stairs, there is still a spectacular view from the Rim Trail that goes along the canyon rim.

The ecosystem is so unique. cacti grow alongside mountain firs, and javelina and elk roam together.

So if you're looking for a place to explore, or just an amazing view, you don't want to miss everything Walnut Canyon has to offer.
