Study: Best, worst cities in America for single people

Does it feel like you're looking for love in all the wrong places?

The city you live in could be to blame. WalletHub recently came out with another one of its surveys; this time focused on the best and worst cities for single people in America.

The surveyranked 150 cities, including Phoenix, using a variety of metrics, including the number of single people, the of restaurants and attractions in each city, the cost to go out to eat and drink, and the number of "active" users on Tinder.

Nine Arizona cities and towns made the list. Phoenix ranked highest at 8 followed by Tempe at 15, Scottsdale at 21, Tucson at 33 and Chandler at 36.

Using those metrics, here are the top five best cities for single people:

  • San Francisco, California
  • Orlando, Florida
  • Seattle, Washington
  • San Diego, California
  • Boston, Massachusetts

The top five worst cities for single people were:

  • Brownsville, Texas
  • Hialeah, Florida
  • Yonkers, New York
  • Port St. Lucie, Florida
  • Pembroke, Florida
