Fate Brewing Company is changing its name.
Owner Steve McFate said the Scottsdale brewery, which opened in 2012, will become McFate Brewing Company. The transition will begin this summer followed by re-launch parties each of its two locations.
Steve McFateIt's location near Scottsdale and McDowell Roads will become McFate Brewing Company, while its location near Scottsdale Road and Shea Boulevard will become McFate's Tap + Barrel.
The point of contention was a brewery in Colorado also known as Fate Brewing Company.
"We could have defended the lawsuit in federal court which would have cost us an enormous amount of time, resources and energy, but we'd rather put those efforts into our beer," said McFate in a media release. "We wish fate restaurants well and we're glad to put this behind us."
