PHOENIX - If you're heading out to the APS Electric Light Parade tonight, you might want to consider these helpful tips:
Taking the light rail to the parade could help you avoid traffic. The parade will run right by the light rail stop on Central Avenue, just south of Camelback.
Spectators are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs.
Coolers are allowed at the event, but remember that alcohol and glass containers are not allowed.
Viewing spots along the parade route are first-come, first-serve. Some parade-goers arrive hours early, so remember to plan for enough time to nab a great seat!
Parking is also first-some, first-serve. Private lots near the route might charge a parking fee.
The parade will begin at 7 p.m. at Central Avenue and Montebello, just south of Bethany Home Road. The parade will run south toward Camelback Road, and then turn east to 7th Street where it turns south again and ends at Indian School Road.
Viewing spots will be available all along the parade route.
