With three months to go until the official start of winter, Arizona Snowbowl began making artificial snow over the weekend.

The Flagstaff ski resort said its snow-making operations began Saturday night and focused on the Logjam and Wild Turkey trails in an effort to be the first ski resort to begin making snow. (The high temperature on Saturday was 59 degrees).

Arizona Snowbowl also announced that its plans to open for the ski season on Nov. 10, less than two months away.

Arizona has two other ski hills -- Sunrise Ski Park in Greer, Arizona and Mt. Lemon Ski Valley in Tucson. It wasn't immediately clear when both of those ski hills planned to open for the season.
