Glendale Glitters kicks off with appearance from Arizona Cardinal Patrick Peterson

GLENDALE, AZ - Opening night for Glendale Glitters , a holiday spectacular with 1.5 million lights in downtown Glendale, kicks off Friday with some special guests and events for visitors.

Arizona Cardinal Patrick Peterson and Glendale Mayor Elaine Scruggs will attend the Countdown to Glendale Glitters Show, which begins at 5:30 p.m.

According to officials, the show will conclude with Peterson and Scruggs turning on the 1.5 million lights.

The event will also include holiday entertainment, food, hand-crafted holiday items for purchase, horse-drawn carriage rides, shopping, and an opportunity to visit with Santa Claus!

The hours opening weekend are Friday and Saturday evenings from 5 to 10 p.m.

Event parking is available at Glendale Community College. Free parking shuttles will transport event-goers to and from the parking lots during the event. Paid parking is also available in the two downtown garages.
