Desert Ridge Marketplace will undergo a $15 million renovation this year.

Construction on the 16-year-old shopping-and-dining complex has already begun and will continue throughout the summer, according to a news release. It's the complex's first renovation since opening in 2001.

The renovations are said to include upgraded seating, landscape and "a new brand look and feel," although anything more specific was not ready to be released, a spokesperson told ABC15. We're told more information would be released as construction continues.

Vestar, which owns the property, also said it was committed to bringing more restaurants, local shops and specialty stores to the complex.

Desert Ridge is located near the Loop 101 and Tatum Blvd. Major tenants include an AMC movie theatre, Barnes & Noble, and The Keg.
