Barrio Queen is coming to Desert Ridge Marketplace.

The Mexican restaurant said its newest location will have an open kitchen, a private tequila tasting room and an outdoor lounge with a giant tree, along with the Mexican art its two other locations are known for.

The 5,700-square-foot eatery will have seating for 275. The plan right now is to be open by late summer, according to a news release.

Steve Rosenfield and Linda Nash opened the original Barrio Queen in 2011 in Old Town Scottsdale. The location in Gilbert opened in 2015.

"We like to pass the culture on to our guests, said Rosenfield in a prepared statement. "We don't just put the food on the table. We help you experience the food."

Desert Ridge Marketplace is located in north Phoenix near the Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) and Tatum Blvd.
