This week marks the start of Arizona Restaurant Week.
Over eleven days, more than 150 restaurants in the Phoenix area (and a few in Tucson) will offer pre-fixed dinners -- includes appetizer, main course, dessert, and sometimes a drink -- for either $33 or $44 a person.
Its purpose is two-fold -- to get you and I invested in Arizona's unique culinary scene either by trying a new restaurant or by trying a type of food outside our normal palate, and to support our local chefs and restaurants.
Arizona Restaurant Week is September 16-23. Below you'll find a map of each participating restaurant and three reasons why you should check it out. View restaurant menus here.
NEW RESTAURANTS
Arizona Restaurant Week (ARW) is a prime way to check out some of the newest restaurants to the Valley -- and with a complete meal, too. Some of the restaurants that opened this year and are participating include Drexyl, Nico Heirloom Kitchen, Mancuso's, Stock and Stable and Wink 24.
TRY VALLEY STAPLES
Along with new restaurants, it is also a great way try some of the Valley's staples, if you haven't been before.
Durant's Steakhouse has been in the Valley for over 65 years. The Four Season's Talavera and The Phoenician's J&G Steakhouse have both been awarded AAA's Four Diamond status, a rigorous test of service and food quality.
Fox Restaurant Concepts is another well-known restaurateur in the business and several of their concepts are part of ARW.
EXPAND YOUR PALATE
With over 150 restaurants, the menus range from American to Italian to Mexican to Polish to French to Ethiopian. So if you were looking to try a certain cuisine and want to look at a focused menu, Arizona Restaurant Week allows that to happen.
