10 FUN things to do in Arizona this weekend

So when is the last time you saw a bathtub race? Or trick roping? The ‘Wild West Days Festival' is expected to draw over 10,000 this weekend. The three-day festival also includes a parade, a Western kid zone featuring pony rides, and tons of great eats and fabulous live entertainment. It's in Cave Creek.
 
Or how about seeing some local art while enjoying our cooling Arizona air? "First Fridays on Grand Avenue" is a chance for you to tour more than 70 galleries and venues. It's always an experience like no other while having a chance to support our local artists.     
 
Love satire? The Onion has earned legions of diehard fans for their wit and outrageous fake news. Arizona native Ben Berkley writes and edits for them. Hear his take on what it's like when he speaks at Changing Hands Bookstore Saturday night.
 
If you love gorgeous fine jewelry, or even some fabulous costume jewelry, you don't want to miss the 'Phoenix Jewelry, Gem and Mineral Show'. It's not all about the jewels, though. Okay, shifting gears, how about some fiery, red-hot salsa? Nine time Grammy winner Eddie Palmieri is coming to Scottsdale to do his thing. Known for bold innovation and his charismatic persona, the popular Latin Jazz icon is in town for one night only. See him in Scottsdale.
 
And the Day of the Day, Dia de los Muertos, will be celebrated at the Desert Botanical Garden. This colorful tradition honors and celebrates departed loved ones with storytelling, dance and a community alter.
