KATE HUDSON has credited her mother GOLDIE HAWN with helping her maintain a healthy lifestyle, as the veteran actress advised her from a young age not to become "obsessed" with her weight or embark on extreme diets.
The Almost Famous star keeps her slim figure in check by avoiding wheat and dairy products, and reveals it was a chat with Hawn which helped her create realistic food habits which would benefit her as an adult.
She is quoted by Britain's Daily Express as saying, "When I was younger my mom advised me not to start going on crash diets or become obsessed with my weight and I have always stuck by that.
"I started eating properly at the age of 16, getting on a regime in which I'd get more energy. So I don't eat wheat or dairy. It is really simple. I became used to it very quickly and I don't crave stuff. I occasionally cheat, with a sandwich which has great French bread and cheese, but not often. But mom is full of great advice - she's pretty handy like that."
