Ken Jeong's medical degree is nothing to laugh at.

The comedian's training came in handy Saturday when an audience member began having a seizure while Jeong was performing at Stand Up Live in Phoenix.

The actor's representative, Michelle Margolis, confirmed reports that the 48-year-old Jeong and an emergency medical technician in the audience helped the woman until paramedics arrived. She was taken to a hospital. There was no immediate word on the woman's identity or condition.

Heather Holmberg, who was at the show, said the incident showed a side of Jeong not a lot of people expected to see.

“He thought at that moment that they were hecklers that they were trying to draw his attention at the fact that there was an issue,” Holmberg said. “I read on Twitter that some man put 'oh, he jumped over my wife to get to the woman, he's very agile. This could have been an extremely traumatic moment but everything was fine."

Jeong has appeared in "The Hangover" movie franchise and TV's "Dr. Ken" and "Community."
