PHOENIX - Scattered storm development was building and producing showers along the west and southwest Valley as of 3 p.m. This included the Laveen, Avondale and Goodyear areas and Estrella Mountains.
The National Weather Service in Phoenix issued Small Stream and Flood Advisories, and Flash Flood Warnings from Ahwatukee to Carefree.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office confirmed at least one fatality caused by flooding when a 65-year-old man entered a flooded roadway on Red Hill Road in Wickenburg and was swept down a wash.
Rain totals from the fast-moving storm ranged from the official total .18 inches at Sky Harbor to .79 inches at the Loop 101/Loop 202 and .83 inches in Gilbert.
The main portion of the storm traveled from the south Valley to the northeast, exiting in Fountain Hills.
The northwest Valley, including areas of Sun City and Deer Valley, missed out on this event.
Power outages caused by the storm continued Saturday night, with SRP reporting parts of Mesa and San Tan Valley affected. APS reported outages in Quartzite.
