TEMPE, AZ - With a near-capacity crowd expected for Thursday night's Arizona State University and Oregon matchup at Sun Devil stadium, state traffic officials are urging drivers to plan ahead for game traffic.
The Pac12 showdown between the Sun Devils and Ducks is scheduled for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
ABC15's Traffic Anchor Brandon Hamilton is advising fans using East Valley freeways to try to arrive at the game early and allow extra time during rush hour leading up to the opening kickoff.
Many fans are also expected to use light rail to get to and from the game. Metro Light Rail's service makes a number of stops within walking distance of the stadium.
Regular commuters who usually travel eastbound on Loop 202 in the afternoon and evening should consider an alternate route to the East Valley. Those include eastbound Interstate 10 to US60 or northbound State Route 51 to eastbound Loop 101, according to ADOT.
Before heading out the door from home or work, you can view ADOT's freeway camera images and travel times on their website .
