Road closures in Valley for MCSO deputy funeral procession

PHOENIX - Authorities say several road closures will take place Friday morning for the funeral procession of a slain Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputy.
The funeral service for Deputy William Coleman is expected to begin at 10 a.m.
The procession will affect traffic as early as 11 a.m. Friday.
According to spokesman Doug Nintzel with the Arizona Departmentof Transportation, the closures are the following:
- Procession will proceed (from church) east on Bethany Home Road to enter NB SR 51.
- NB SR 51 will be closed between I-10 and Loop 101 starting at approximately 11 a.m.
- WB Loop 101 closed between SR 51 and 7th Ave. (north Phoenix) starting at approximately 11:30 a.m.
- Drivers should consider using NB I-17 as alternate route while NB SR 51 is closed.
- WB Loop 101 traffic can go south on Tatum Blvd. or SR 51 and use WB Union Hills Dr. or Bell Rd. to NB 7th Ave. to reconnect with Loop 101.
- Times are approximate and subject to change depending on length of service for Deputy Coleman.
